New Trends in Ollywood. There are some positive signs which is keeping the hopes afloat for the future of the Odia film industry. Still it needs to overcome a lot of challenges to really have a pan-national presence.

Orissa Film industry is not so popular at national level. Lately ,but slowly it is trying to catch up with its contemporary regional film industries.

Here are few pointers how the industry is transforming.

1.Separate Music Release
2.Promotion of films on radio Shows
3.Promotion Of newly released films on Television Shows
4.Number of Films have increased
6.More number of newcomers debuting the silver screen
7.Shooting being done outside

Film Mate Bohukari Nei Ja and Thukool were shoot in foreign locations.

8.Films are being tried to be made more content oriented
9.Actors venturing in to production
10.More Award ceremonies being made
11.A lot of classic films appreciated and re screened

Films like Malajahna and Kie Kahara were screened by film journalists forum.

The present scenario of Ollywood looks good on surface ,but its future is not so promising.Here are my reservations -

1.Majority of films are being copied from south films
2.Number of halls decreasing
3.Urban and educated youths still shy away from odia films
4.Production values of film are below standard
5. Government showing lack of interest in helping promote entertainment
6.None of the films are able to be selected at national film festivals
