Khalasuni Sanctuary of Sambalpur District Orissa

It is coming under Rairakhol Sub division which is famous for its natural beauty. NandanKanan is one of the famous zoological park in Orissa. The name "NandanKanan" came from two tiger names "Nandan" and "Kanan". Its different meaning is "Garden in Heaven". It is located on the side of Kanjila lake.You can reach NandanKanan by Bus and Train. It is 20kms far from the capital of Orissa named Bhubaneswar. Nearest Railway Station of NandanKanan is Barang which is 2-3 kms far from this beautiful zoo. It was established on 1970 and became zoo on 1979. Specialty of NandanKanan zoo is white tiger reserve.
