Krishna Beura, the Versatile Sufi Singer from Orissa

Krishna Beura, the singer who gains the fame by his songs such as Moula Mere Le Le Mari Jaan and Main Jahan Rahun, is an Oriya by birth. The singer wants to sing more in Oriya industry but regrets that people in Orissa does not know much about him and even they came to know about his oriya connection; than they try to utilize that for their own benefit. Who is Krishna Beura?

Krishna Beura is an Oriya guy born in a small village Kushapangi of Cuttack district. He was born to Indramani and Sushama Beura. His father was an employee of Indian Air Force. Because of his job, the maximum number of years the family resided at Chandigarh. During his young days, he started singing in small social get-togethers. Than he flew to Dubai where he worked as a day time Radio Jockey and in the evening, he used to sing in the Sheraton hotel.

Krishna Beura is a great fan of legendary Sufi singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. This is pretty visible in his singing style also. During his struggling period, he approached the actor Sanjay Dutt. This becomes the beginning of his Bollywood career. Sanjay Dutt was so impressed with his voice quality and singing style that he offered him to sing for five of his films. The films are Rudraksha, Rakhta, Musafir, Zinda and Dewar. Out of these five, his track in Musafir; "Zindagi me kabhi koi aye Na Rabba" become the most popular one. Slowly, he started building his career in Bollywood. After Sanjay Dutt, he got many another admirers in Bollywood. Than he got chance to lend his voice to super star Sharukh Khan for the movie "Chak De India". The track "Moula mere, le le meri jaan", is an instant hit. That makes him a popular singer in Bollywood. There after he hit the height of popularity by singing the soulful track of "Namaste London", "Main Jahan Rahun"! Beside this he has some other hits to his credit too, some of them are:

1. Chaska from "Badmash Company".
2. Soniyo from "Raaj – 2".
3. For your eyes only from "Hum Ko Deewana Kargaye".
4. Rabbi from "Zindagi Rocks".
5. Insah Allah from "Welcome".

Krishna Beura's Other Achievement

Beside Bollywood, Krishna also renders his voice in some regional movies. He sung for Oriya, Punjabi and Kannada films. Beside that he also sung some Oriya album songs. The most famous Oriya songs sung by him are; "Aaji Mangana Kali Tora Bahaghara" and "Nijhum Rati Ra Sahara Re".

The versatile Sufi singer, who has sung in more than 30 Bollywood movies, now extended his move towards Hollywood. He just finished a song with the famous American musician Jay Oliver.
