Blind School at Baliguda ,Orissa

All is not well with the blind school at Baliguda town. Thought established by the late freedom fighter Biswanath Pattnaik. in 1981 to help blind children join mainstream the school has failed to serve the purpose. It is managed by Red Cross and Banabasi Seva Samiti.The school today function amid several problem.
There are classes from I to X and at present, the school house 32 girls and 54 boys. There are 27 teaching and non teaching staffs. besides regular classes, vocation training is provided to the students.

Problems faced in the Blind School , Baligua

Headmistress of the school Ramasundari panda said while the school faces drinking water and infrastructure problems.
Teachers are not paid their salaries regularly. The hostel building requires immediate repair and student do not get their stipend. in the absence regular maintenance and repair work school buildings too has developed cracks.The most and main problem face by them is maiost . Subject like mathematics and hindi are not being taught in the absence of the teacher.
"Though the district Administration has been apprised of the problem several times, it is yet to take any measure " said Rabindra Kumar Panda Secretary of the school managing committee.
