This is a small story from Indian Mythology, which points out that; "no one can change the will of God."
Once, the God of Death "Yama" planned to meet Lord "Vishnu". He came to the palace of "Vishnu", and found the King of birds "Garuda" was guarding the palace. He asked him the permission to meet the Lord of Universe. "Garuda" went to inform the same to his Lord and when he came out to escort Lord "Yama", he observed that the death God is keenly looking at a small but beautiful bird. The King of Birds, sense something wrong. I mean, when the death King is smiling at you, than you know your time is over! So, as soon as "Yama" went to meet "Vishnu", he carry the small bird took it to Himalaya mountain, which is miles away from "Vishnu"'s palace. He kept the bird inside a small cave, cover it fully with stone so that the God of death can't locate it. And came back to guard God "Vishnu"'s palace. And he did all these things, with in a fraction of seconds. He is very much satisfied that, a bird has been saved from death!
After a few moments, "Yama" came out of the palace. And he is looking for that small beautiful bird. The king of birds, smiled at his own accomplishment. With a satire tone, he is asking the lord of death, if he is looking for that bird. "Yama" replied positively. With a pleasant smile "Garuda" replied, "Oh, God of death, now that bird is out of your reach. You can't take its life!" Listening to the words of "Garuda", he laughed. Than he said, "I know where you must have hid that creature! Is the bird is in a cave of Himalayan?" Garuda was surprised to hear this. Than "Yama" replied, "I was wondering how come the bird is here, where as its time of death is already arrived and it was supposed to be killed by a snake living hungrily in the caves of Himalaya. With its tiny wings, how can it fly so long to Himalaya with in such small time? But God's plan is fool proof. You did the needful."
That's how life is! Everything is planned and we the tiny creatures can't change his plans.
