Konark is one of the Best place comes our mind when we think about the best places of Orissa. It is a very small area having beautiful scenario in the district of Puri.It is Situated at a distance of 60 km from Bhubaneswar and 32 Km from Puri, Konark is easily reachable by all types of transport. It is most famous for the best and magnificent Sun Temple that makes this small town, a really big name in the world of tourism. Though Konark is visited by tourists throughout the year, it still has a very clean and unhampered environment. The climate is also quite favorable throughout the 12 month period.The crafts made on the body of Konark is the most attractive points of this Temple.The Konark beach is also a major attraction of the town.

It is designed as a "Chariot" or "Rath" style on the Shore of "Chandrabhaga" sea beach.The wheels of the Chariot is 10ft high.There are 12 wheels present in the Chariot.There are seven stone horses are in a position in pulling the Chariot.The design of the temple was based on the design of central India architecture. Sun temple is the best temple among all temples of India.

Konark is one of the most visited towns in Orissa but there are not good places or hotels to stay. The place is not fully developed due to non initiative activities of "Orissa Government" and "Orissa Tourism". But still there are some Panthaniwas, Dharmasala and private lodges to stay.

How to Reach Konark By Air

You can come Orissa by air to Biju pattnaik air port, Bhubaneswar. It is about 63km from Konark Temple. From this airport you can hire a taxi or go by Bus to this famous temple.

How to Reach Konark By Road

Through this place is situated in Puri district, so it is well connected by road ways. You can come Puri by bus from any District of Orissa or outsides. Then you can go Konark temple by taxi or bus or Auto Rickshaw.It is about 35 km from Puri Bus stand.

How to Reach Konark By Railway

Nearest railway station is at Puriand it is well connected to every part of the state and country. You can come Puri in Jagannath Express, Purusottam Express, Howrda Puri Passenger, Dhenkanal Puri Passenger etc and go Konark Temple by Taxi, local buses or auto rickshaws. Konark temple is 32km far from Puri Railway station.
