Mahuri Kalua Temple and Picnic Spot

Mahuri Kalua is one of the most preferred picnic spot in Ganjam,Orissa.This spot is near a mountain and having 2 temples.

Temple

1st temple is on the mountain and their are stairs to climb into the hill , then there is a smal cave ,through which the temple is accessible. It will take around 45 Mins- 1 hour to reach the Mahurikalua Temple on the mountain.

2nd temple is down the hill which is just infront of the parking space.
The Godess is well known in the district and many people come there to pray.

The space down the hill is full of long trees and like a jungle which is mostly used as a picnic spot. You can find some inbuilt place to cook and have fun with loud music,dance,play etc.

Being 15 Km far from Berhampur City , some public transport run to this spot and there is a option to book a taxi,auto or Bus incase of many people whicha re available at railway station,Bus stand and some other areas and can be booked through the travel agents

In the Time of New year the space is almost full of people, so if you are planning to have a picnic on 31st December or on the new year , then make sure you come early and have aplce to cook and have fun.

Travel Options:

Railway- Nearest Railway Station is Berhampur.(15 kms from Berhampur).

Road- Just 4 kms from State High Way, Berhampur to Koraput Road, Village Padar Balli Kalua Chhack.

Accomodation- Please note there is no hotels or guest house available at the spot. Nearest accommodation is available at Berhampur.

Airport- This is 194Km far from the Nearest airport which is at the state capital Bhubaneswar.
