22 New Polytechnics to open in Orissa

To widespread the Diploma Engineering education in Orissa, the Central Government will be providing funds to the state government. According to the Technical Education and Vocational Training Department of Orissa Government, the fund will be utilized in opening new Polytechnic colleges in the state.

The districts which do not have any Polytechnic or Engineering School, those districts will be taken into consideration to open new polytechnics. Among the proposed 22 Polytechnics, 4 Polytechnics are ready to work from the education year 2010-2011. These 4 polytechnics will be started in Malkanagiri, Sambalpur, Bouddha and Gajapati districts. At present there are 13 Government and 73 Private Polytechnics/Engineering Schools to provide Diploma Engineering course.
