Ampani Hills

Ampani is located at a distance of 77 km from the district headquarters Bhawanipatna. There is a beautiful valley known as 'Haladigundi' in between the hills which gives amazing view of nature.There is a reservoir where wildlife is seen.

Gudahandi Hills

While travelling from Bahwanipatna towards the Koraput district border via Ampani, there is a small village known as Khaligarh (around 87 km away from Bhawanipatna and located near to Koraput district border). The Gudahandi Hills are situated in the village Khaligarh. The Gudahandi hills constitute 3 curved hills. There is a valley between the hills. The place is very beautiful, full of natural sceneries. There are dense forests. Some old paintings and carves are found in the hills.

Phurlijharan

Phurlijharan is a beautiful waterfall. This falls from a height of about 30 ft and the surrounding of the fall has a panoramic view with plants, trees, hills and rocks. This is a suitable picnic spot because of the green forests located near the waterfall.

Junagarh

Junagarh was the capital of Kalahandi when Kalahandi was an independent state before independence of India. Junagarh is about 25 km away from Bhawanipatna. There is a old and beautiful fort in Junagarh. There are different sculptures of old days which shows the 'Sati Pratha' of those days. There is a temple of 'Maa Lankeswari' in Junagarh.

Lanjigarh

Lanjigarh village is situated at a distance of 64 km from Bhawanipatna. There is a famous 'Gopinath Temple' in Lanjigarh. This is also a hilly area and the origin of the river 'Banadhara'. The famous 'Jhamu Jatra' is celebrated in this place in the month of March-April every year.

Manikeswari Temple

The Manikeswari Temple is a famous temple in Kalahandi. The temple is situated in Karlapat Village near Bhawanipatna.. There is also a waterfall located near the village. There is another place known as Thuamul Rampur located nearby which is also a very beautiful place to visit.

King's Palace

There is a Palace of Kalahandi King situated in Bhawanipatna. The palace has a big campus, there is also a 'Sabha Gruha' situated inside the Palace campus.

Tourists can also come to know about the tribal peoples, their culture and lifestyle by visiting tribal villages.
