Dr. Ramachandra Behera - New President of Orissa Sahitya Academy

The famous writer and speaker Dr. Ramachandra Behera has been posted as the the new President of Orissa Sahitya Academy. This was declared by the Culture Department on 27th May 2010. Dr. Ramachandra Behera will serve Orissa Sahitya Academy as the President for 2 years.

Biography of Dr. Ramachandra Behera

Dr. Ramachandra Behera was born on 2nd November, 1945 at the village Ghatagan of Keonjhar district, Orissa. From the childhood, Dr. Behera had always shown interest in literature. He completed his higher education from Utkal University and Banaras Hindu University. Dr. Ramachandra Behera worked as a Professor at Kendrapara College for many years.

Dr. Ramachandra Behera is Sahitya Academy Award winner. Dr. Behera has written many story books and novels based on Oriya culture, Oriya people and Orissa society. Some of his famous books are 'Eithi Akasha', Duara Tapile Bata', 'Mukti ra Ruparekha', 'Dhusara Surjyasta', Abhinaya ra Paridhi, 'Pada Talara Mati', 'Achinha Pruthibi', 'Mahakbya ra Muhana', 'Om Kara Dhwani', 'Banchi Rahiba', 'Pathakantha Gachha' etc.
