How to reach Chilka

Positioned at South west of Puri the Chilka Lake in Orissa is the largest inland salt water lagoon in Asia is well connected with Puri and Bhubaneshwar.

Chilka is just about 120 km from Bhubaneshwar, state capital of Orissa.
By Road: Orissa State Transport Development Corporation, OTDC tour buses and private operators ply the roads between Chilka, Puri, Behrampore, Bhubaneshwar and Cuttack.

By Rail: The adjoining railway stations are at Rambha and Balugaon, both of which have train connects major cities of India like Kolkata, Puri, Hyderabad and Chennai. From both Balugaon and Rambha buses are obtainable to the lake.

Local transport: Which is fundamentally limited to three wheel rickshaws and auto rickshaws, bicycles and cars are only modes of private transport. The services of local boatmen and the OTDC motorboats are accessible for admittance to the islands though outboard motors are not permitted next to the bird sanctuary.
