First phase Panchyat Election of OdishaThe first phase Panchyat elections 2012 of Odisha is over yesterady. Out of 854 seats, election was conducted in 194 zones. 68.13 percentage of voters have used their voting rights. And Cuttack seems to be highest of 80%.
Counting is already started in this zones. And it is alleged from the counting that BJD is running in front in maximum of these zones. News till midnight of yesterday, out of 182 zones, 130 is going in favour of BJD, whereas 32 for Congress, 5 for BJP and 15 others. However, results will be declared officially on 22nd of February.
It seems that the faith on BJD Govt. is increasing day by day by the people of Odisha. In 2007 panchyat elections, BJD got 74 seats out of the same 194 seats. So it is a tremondous improvement in their performence.
