Really it is a sad news. Why people are drinking such liquor. More and more people are attracted tworads the cheap country liquor because of its hardness and less cost. but they don't know its contents. So awareness should be created amoung the people regarding such kind of liquor. These kind of liquor should be banned and factories need to be destroyed and heavy penalty should be imposed upon culprits.

Thanks & Regards
Krishna

Yes, it is a very sad news and appeared to be repeat of 1992 tragedy. Poor people choose low quality liquor but won't realize its bad effect on their health. I think our state government must ban such liquors in our state. Last month West Bengal faced similar tragedy and more than 150 people died in that tragedy.

With regards,

Vicky

You are right Vicky, in banning these homemade liquors. But is it possible on the part of govt to ban these kind of liquor outlets, prevailing all over the state and country too.

The same thing happen in the year 2007-08 at Golabandha of Ganjam district; where around 18 people died and more than 50 were admitted to Berhampur Medical due to taking of illicit liquors. I was been there to participate in a 'Trauma Relief Program' with 'Art of Living'. I can remember the scene and situation very badly; and very difficult to express in words. The both situation arouse at the time of elections only; where leaders proposes/offers the villages with wine/liquor. It is totally the fault of Police Administration, who've been ignored this kind of situation, mostly in the time of elections.
