Dear Members,
Supreme court today has given an important decision regarding 2G Spectrum Verdict. According to the decision, the licences given to 11 Telecom Companies on 2007 by A.Raja and Telecom MInistry will be rejected/taken back. Some of the famous telecom companies are coming under it like Vodafone, S Tel, Aircel, Spice, Uninor etc. However, Supreme Court has ordered TRAI to take proper care so that the existing customers of these companies will not face any problem.
The Licence will further be distributed freshly within four months through auction. If it happens, the company with the highest bid will get the licence. Though the companies has to pay more, but the impact will finally be shifted to the customers. The call and other rates in near future may be high. Customers may not get other facilities so easily as they are at present.
Membrers are invited to discuss this thread, because it is an important issue of our country.
Thanks & Regards Krishna

Customers will face the problem; not the billionaires. I am using Vodafone, S-Tel and Uninor for internet and calls; like this huge number of customer uses Vodafone and Uninor for internet browsing. We may suffer in anyways; either they will hike the price or the service will goes down. As they are totally private companies and we are their paid customers; we can't complain against them. As, they are withing the rules of TRAI.

since the decision has been quoted, there is no escape and we all should be ready to pay more bills as our mobile phone bill. We all have to actually compensate the loss of these telecom companies. I don't see any profit to anyone with this decisions of supreme court. And the biggest losers are telecom companies, then the UPA govt and then we the common people.

Of course, we the customers will be looser if telecom companies will hike the price. The bidding process has already began by TRAI. We have to wait for the results and its consequences. Let us hope for the best.

Yes, it is a crucial judgment and can able to give an anchor to the corruption in telecom sector. This judgement is a setback to the government. The supreme court in its judgment clearly criticized central government for its failures. One more important this is that, the court not only gave judgement but also initiated its action against the companies. It cancelled 122 licences which were approved by the central government at the time of Raja.
