How can we know the efficiency of Electronic Voting Machines?

    Dear Friends,
I hope that all the states of India including Odisha are using the Electronic Voting Machine in poll stations for polling the votes. But there is different opinions about the efficiency of this Electronic Voting machines in the Political parties and public.

Odisha Jana Sammilani, a city-based organisation which also raised many questions and doubts about the efficiency and reliability of this Electronic Voting machines. The Election Commission of India told that these machines were checked thoroughly and proved it has efficiency and reliability. However, the Odisha Jana Sammilani has opposed the statement of Election Commission which said that Electronic Voting machines (EVM) were tamper-proof in its efficiency and reliability.

Dear members feel free to share your view and opinions about this issue of the efficiency of EVM.

    With regards,

    Hi Manoharan,

Its very true that electronic machines too perform/execute wrongly; but not every time. As you said about Electronic Voting Machines, before delivering to the voting counter, every machines were checked and analysed whether it is giving an error or wrong information and etc. After certifying by the manufacturing company and Chief Verifying Officer, we cannot encounter the issue.

I agree with the statemet made by Mr. Naresh. The EVMs are checked thoroughly before sending it to election booths. Very rare incidents are found so far regarding its mal functioning. However, it is not tempering free. it is afterall prepared by human being and there is quite possible chance of tempering by human being.

But we can't doubt on the EVM's efficiency without any strong evidence.

    Thanks & Regards
