What is the future of Chilka lake of Odisha? Many scientist are thinking to answer this question. Really the future of this lake is uncertain. Scientist believe that because of global warming the sea level is increasing. If this situation continues then it will create a problem for Chilka lake and people living in it. Because we know that there is a small sand divider which divides Chilka from sea. Does this sand divider exist when sea water level will increased?

This may create a great trouble to the people residing near the chilika lake. They might have to shift to some other place for their bread and butter. This will also distract many foreign birds that visit Odisha during winters in chilika lake.

Don't you feel we should move towards controlling pollution level to control global warming! This is the only way which can save the biggest salt lake Chilka.

Chilika Lake will not exahust from the scene. But it may cause problem to the people living around it. But I heard from the people around the lake tht the water level is going down day by day. Hence they are not getting enough fish for fishing. However, announcement of lease by govt. is there. But we can't deny the decrease in water level. I can say increasing sea level may increase the water Level of Chilika also. It may not be a problem till it reach the extreme.

If increase in sea level is an issue, then it is a problem for the whole world because 70 per cent of the world is made of water.
